children,

have

died

from

the

floods,

which

have

also

destroyed

over

4,000

000

homes

and

directly

impacted

33

million

people.

There

are

thousands

of

people

without

shelter,

many

without

food,

and there are stranded people in this epic humanitarian disaster.

Prime

Minister

Shehbaz

Sharif

formally

proclaimed

a

"national

emergency"

and

requested

for

international

aid

in

response

to

the

floods

that

the

rain-

induced

flooding

caused.

Pope

Francis

also

calls

on

the

international

community

to

help

Pakistan,

he

appeals

for

"generous

international

solidarity",
