Sectrainism
in
Pakistan:
The
phenomenon
of
extremism
in
Pakistan
is
highly
complex
and
multi-layered.
The
origins
of
sectarian
violence
in
Pakistan
can
be
traced
back
to
the
war
against
the
Soviet
occupation
of
Afghanistan
(1978
through
1988).
A
large
number
of
Islamist
groups
and
Madras's
appeared
inside
Pakistan
on
behalf
of
Jahad.
Unfortunately,
the
government
at
that
time
failed
to
realize
the
religious
extremist
causes
and
their
consequences
at
that
time.
As
a
result,
various
acts
of
sectarian
violence
were
noticed
caused
by
both
the
external
and
internal
influences
making
Pakistan
unstable.
Civilian
governments
has
failed
to
curb
the
threat
and
its
failure
in
turn
allowed
the
religious
militants
to
thrive
and
grow
in
strength.
The
culture
of
violence
within
the
boundries
of
Pakistan
is
a
real
challenge
for
the
Pakistani
government
and
for
its
people.It
is
indeed
a
complex
matter
which
really needs to be resolved as early as possible.

of
the

12,94,800.
The

has
a
sufficient
minority
population

Christians
are
living
in
the
rural
and
urban
areas.
Who
are
engaged
in
Agriculture, Daily wages, Labours and Sanitation workers?
There
are
much
more
religious
violence
in
the
District,
between
the
Muslim
and
Muslims
(Shi’a
and
Sunni's)
and
Muslim
and
Christians.
Here we want to mention few incidents of religious violence.
In1987.
A
Procession
of
the
10th
Muharam
passing
through
the
Bazaar.
On
this
occasion
the
Shop
Keepers
of
the
Bazaar
resist
against
it.
The
next
year
in
the
same
month
of
the
Muharam
the
Shop
Keepers
of
the
Bazaar
hang
up
a
banner
against
the
Shi’a.
Shi’a
refuse
to
raise
the
Procession of 10th Muharam.
The
next
day
the
District
Govt.
held
the
Muharam
Procession
in
the
same
bazaar
by
covering
the
banners,
which
were
against
the
Shi’a.
While
the
Procession
was
returning
the
opponents
(Sunni’s)
start
firing.
Because of this cross firing some people had died.
